Marie F. Bethe (Wysocki)
Marie passed away Monday, November 13, 2017, with her family by her side. She was born in Goodman, WI to the late John and Anastasia Wysocki on September 5, 1920. She married Stanley Bethe on October 6, 1940. She was a devoted homemaker and mother. She had many talents and was a particularly wonderful cook. Marie enjoyed preparing large meals for family and friends. She was an incredible artisan and created beautiful ceramic crafts and hand carved items. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, painting, and woodworking.
After the death of her husband, she became very active at the Thompson’s Community Center, and volunteered there for many years. She enjoyed their dances on Saturday nights and rarely missed an event. Marie’s faith was very important to her, and has been a member of Pius Catholic Church for many years.
Marie is survived by two sons: James (Nancy) Bethe, Robert (Linda) Bethe; 5 grandchildren Todd (Jill) Bethe, Amy (Craig) Mathison, Jennifer (Kurt) Krause, Sean Forbeck, and Bruce (Julia) Forbeck Jr; Son in law: Bruce Forbeck; 3 great granddaughters (Kirsten, Olivia, and Mackinzey); 7 great grandsons (Casey, Corey, Carter, Maddox, Bruce III, Sheldon, & Caleb); 2 great-great granddaughters (Cheyenne and Sarah); Brothers: John (Joanne) Wysocki, Stanley (Pat) Wysocki, Joseph (Marilyn) Wysocki, Walter (Kathy) Wysocki; A sister-in-law Susanne Wysocki. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley (March 29, 1999); daughter Sandra Forbeck (July 6, 1998); Brothers: Wadsworth Wysocki, Casimer Wysocki, Edmund Wysocki; Sister: Sophie Franczek.
The funeral liturgy for Marie will be on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 11:30 AM, at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 W. Marquette St, Appleton. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the church. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thompson Community Center on 2331 E. Lourdes Drive, Appleton.
The family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to the caring staff at Theda Clark Medical Center, specifically in the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, 5th floor, and hospice. Your kindness and exceptional care will never be forgotten. The family would also like to thank Marie’s friend Betty for getting her safely to church each week for the last several years, as well as for her companionship and kindness.
