Marie M. Damie

Marie M. Damie (Britzke) age 94 of Menasha, WI was welcomed to the house of the Lord on September 12, 2022. She was born to Louis and Mary (Schedgick) Britzke on November 26, 1927. She graduated from Menasha High School and went on to work at Marathon. She later became a manager of the women's clothing department in Shopko. Marie married August Damie in 1950 and together they lovingly raised 2 wonderful children. 

Marie was an active and driven woman and was always on her feet doing something whenever she could. She loved cleaning and would always have a clean house - so clean you could eat off the floor! But she always made sure that Gus was the one cooking. She did however make an awesome raspberry pie. If Marie wasn't inside cleaning, she was outside walking. She could walk miles a day without breaking a sweat and you'd have to jog just to keep up with her. She also loved spending time in Florida during the Winter months. More than anything, though, Marie loved her family and took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren spending as much time with them as she could. 

Marie is survived by her son Mark Damie, Menasha and special friend Claire Steger, Neenah and daughter Mary (Gary) Van Linn, Neenah. Two grandsons Michael (Lesley) Van Linn, Fairfax, VA and Steven (Katie) Van Linn, Neenah. Four great-grandsons Jackson and Dylan Van Linn, Hudson and Nash Van Linn. Sister-in-law Margaret Damie, Menasha. Niece Karen Lynch, Keshena who would call and stop over to visit and check up on Marie, plus many numerous nieces and nephews. 

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband August; and special friend Dallas Thompson; 3 brothers: Louis (Eileen), Jack (Dorothy), Mickey (Shirley); 3 sisters: Aurelia (Casey) Wyngaard, Leona (Marcellin) Resch, Bernyce (Dan) Gressler.
