Marie A. (Spreeman) Schoettler

Age 91, died on Saturday, August 9, 2003 at Colony Oaks Care Center. Marie was born in Greenville, Wisconsin on August 7, 1912, daughter of the late Raymond and Rose (Kern) Spreeman. She married Elmer Schoettler in 1930. He preceded her in death in 1974. Marie was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved to crochet and was a huge Packer fan. Marie’s first plane ride was to San Antonio when she was 80 years old. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They meant the world to her. Marie will be greatly missed by her 6 children, Addie (Bob) Kramer; Marion (Ross) Verstegen; Carl (Pat), Norbert (Mary), Bernard (Helen) and John (Terri) Schoettler; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Veronica Bentle; grandchildren, Dean Robert; Thomas Carl; Mary Ann; and great-grandchildren, Zachary Alan Kramer; Alexander and Richard Verstegen. The Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 West Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Rev. Ken Reinhard officiating. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 12 from 4 until 7 p.m., and again at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 until 10:15. A prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The interment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Colony Oaks Care Center and Dr. Mike Krueger for their loving care of Marie.
