Marian “Mannie” Rosalie Wangelin, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 while surrounded by her family. She was born in Stevens Point on January 28, 1933, the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Lee) Kiedrowski. Marian graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in 1950 and moved to Menasha where she met Leonard Wangelin. She and Leonard were married on July 3, 1954 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Menasha. Marian and Leonard were married for 24 years until his passing in 1978. She worked for Rich Products in Appleton for 26 years.
Mannie was a loyal member of St. Patrick Church in Menasha where she enjoyed volunteering and preparing meals for events. She also enjoyed volunteering for the Salvation Army. Mannie instilled strong values in her children and passed on the importance of togetherness and family. She was a selfless woman who found a calling by doing her best to feed the masses.
She is survived by her children: John Wangelin, Carol Lemke, Ken Wangelin, Amy (Doug) Tessman, Joan Schroeder and Seth (Teresa) Wangelin; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ellen Weaver; grandson, James Hamby; two brothers and two sisters; daughter-in-law, Linda Wangelin.
The memorial mass for Marian will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church (324 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha) with Mary Krueger and Fr. Jim Hablewitz officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Ascension Hospice for the care given to Marian.
