Marian E. Kraus

A beloved wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, and sister passed away surrounded by her family at her home on May 9, 2009. Marian was 69. She was born in Ironwood, Michigan on November 3, 1939, daughter of the late Jordan and Wilma Hein. She graduated from St. Ambrose High School in Ironwood in 1958 and met Ron that same year while working for Simpson's Electronics in Mercer, Wisconsin. They were united in marriage on May 25, 1960, and established their home in Menasha and raised their family of three daughters. Marian enjoyed caring for her gardens and flowers. She was also a talented artist, working mostly with oil paints and pastel chalks gave her great pleasure. She was also an avid collector of Gone With The Wind memorabilia and Avon products.

Marian is survived by her husband of forty-eight years: Ron Kraus of Menasha; two daughters: Dawn (Randy) West of Hastings, Minnesota and Laura (Todd) Manley of New London; seven grandchildren: Marvin, Marissa, and Rochelle, all of Madison, Wisconsin; Tarina and Nicole of New London; and Brandon and Luke of Hastings, Minnesota; three great-grandchildren: Adeja, Dajon, and Ayden; a sister: Cheryl (Joe) Vukelich of Ishpeming, Michigan; a brother: Butch (Sandy) Hein of Ironwood, Michigan, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Sherry Kraus Hill of Madison; her mother-in-law: Myrtle Schanke; and most recently a sister-in-law Gloria Parr of Virginia.

A memorial service for Marian will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service.

Marian will be forever in our hearts.
