Margy Durbin

Margy Durbin (Ward) age 68 of Appleton, WI passed away on June 14, 2024. She was born to Ronald and Ethel (Curtis) Ward on January 1, 1956 in Boscobel, WI. After graduating from Wauzeka High School with the class of ’74, she enlisted in the Air Force. Margy met the love of her life, James “Jim” Durbin in 1977 while she was babysitting his neighbor’s kid, and they were married a few years after in October of 1980. They remained together for over 43 years and in that time, raised their wonderful son, Curtis. 

Margy was a wonderful, kind, and compassionate woman, though she was resilient after being raised on a farm with 5 brothers. Though she had to cook for her brothers when she was a kid, she liked cooking for her family in her adult life. Her tacos were a favorite amongst her family and she could cook up a mean chili for sure. In her free time, she enjoyed reading mysteries and thrillers and traveling around the states with Jim on their motorcycles. More than anything, though, she cherished every moment she could spend with her family and was so proud of everyone she helped to raise. 

Margy will be deeply missed by her husband, Jim; her son, Curtis (Heather); her grandson, Jimmy; her brothers, Carl, Russ (Alvie), and Richard; her sister-in-law, Marlene; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

Margy is preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Ethel; and her brothers, Arthur and David (Debbie).

A funeral visitation will be held from 4-7 PM at Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave, Kaukauna, WI 54130.  Margy will be laid to rest at Boscobel Cemetery with her mother on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 12 PM.
