Marguerite T. Werner, age 88, of Appleton, passed away Sunday morning, January 27, 2008. She was born September 5, 1919, to the late William and Mollie(Klement) Werner, in Appleton, where she was a resident all of her life. On June 1, 1940, Marguerite married Francis E. Werner, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Appleton. Muggs was an avid sports fan and was well known for her knitting, sewing and crocheting. Much of her hand crafted items helped raise money for St. Elizabeth Hospital and charity. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by three children, Peter (Mary) Werner, Black Mountain, NC; Judi Werner (Stephen Caldwell) Madison; Jack Werner (Lisa Aberi) Tarpon Springs, FL; four grandchildren, Amy (Sachin) Agnihotri, Lauren (Josh) Hastings, Anthony Werner and Alexcis Aberi; a great grandson, Ishan Agnihotri; a brother-in-law, Gordy Drexler; two sisters-in-law, Helen Werner and Arlene Werner, all of Appleton; 11 nieces and nephews; Marguerite also loved and cared for the children of the Mills family, the Fielkow family and the Chudacoff family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Francis E. Werner, on May 22, 2001, a sister, Marcella “Marcy” Drexler and two brothers, Clement “Bud” Werner and Roy Werner. The funeral liturgy for Marguerite will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 31, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 East Fremont Street, with Father Robert Karuhn officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice at Cherry Meadows, 2600 South Heritage Woods Drive, Appleton, WI 54915.
