Marguerite A. Melanson, age 90, died on Sunday, July 8, 2018. She was born on October 9, 1927, in Kenosha to the late Charles and Irene (Smolinski) Putnam. Marg attended Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, graduating in 1945. She met Paul L. Melanson of Two Rivers and they married on May 30, 1950. Marg worked for Wisconsin Telephone Co. for 30 years before retiring in 1989. She enjoyed volunteering for various organizations such as St. Joseph Food Pantry, St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary, Telephone Pioneers, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Odd Lots Investment Club. She especially enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her girlfriends.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Louise (Putnam-Gosz) Pate, Tucson, AZ, as well as four children and a son-in-law: Julie Gillick, Little Chute, Sue (Ron) Teske, Darboy, Paul (Carla) Melanson, Kimberly, Peter Melanson, Kimberly, and son-in-law, Dan Kamps, Little Chute. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Ashley (Nick) Zahringer, Lindsey (Chris) Rowe, Matthew (Candi) Teske, Mitchell Teske, Shea (Jordan) VanProosdy, Nathan (Ashley) Melanson, Isaac Melanson, Alec Melanson, Jeremy Kamps, Tyler Kamps, Dan (Kimberly) Kamps and Angie (Luke) Bombinski. Marg was blessed with 14 great grandchildren: Leah, Chloe and Taylor Zahringer, Camden Rowe, Jenna and Georgia Teske, Addy Teske, Micaiah, Elyse and Lucas VanProosdy, Brooklyn and Scarlett Melanson, Kelly, Annie and Coy Kamps and Alivia, Macy and Easton Bombinski. She also is survived by two nieces and nephews in Tucson.
Marg was preceded in death by her daughter, LuAnn Kamps, son-in-law, Ted Gillick, the father of her children, Paul L. Melanson, and her parents.
A funeral mass for Marg will be celebrated on Friday, July 13, at 11 AM, at Holy Spirit Church, 620 East Kimberly Ave., Kimberly, WI. Visitation will take place at the church from 9 AM until 11 AM, the time of mass. Inurnment will be at Highlands Memorial Park, Appleton.
