Age 101, died on Monday, October 11, 2004 at Colony Oaks Care Center. Margaret was born in Appleton, WI on September 13, 1903, daughter of the late Charles and Ida (Schabow) Leist. She married Walter Steinacker on July 24, 1924. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1928. Margaret enjoyed bowling for 35 years. She is survived by her son, Bruce (Evelyn) Steinacker; daughter, Jean Holdorf; 8 grandchildren: Anastasia (Paul) Manske; Reid Holdorf and fiancé Joan Frieders; Jan (Brian) Shaw; Mark (Rebecca) Holdorf; Jeff (Sue) and Randy (Lisa) Steinacker; Gwen Loewenhagen; and Penny (Rory) Lehrer; step-great-grandchildren, Brandon and Joshua Dobbert; 17 great-grandchildren: Kris and Davey Johnson; Aaron Manske; Andrea, Eric and Melissa Holdorf; Michael Shaw; Randall Holdorf; Loren Steinacker; Michelle (Nick) Sargent; Travis Steinacker and fiancé Katie Woods; Jeremy, Sean and fiancé Brooke Hoewisch, Meghan and Hannah Steinacker; Shannon Loewenhagen; and her special great-great-granddaughter, Madeliene Mae Sargent. Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, Wilbur, Edward and George; her sister, Viola Klahorst; and son-in-law, Herman Holdorf. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 14, 2004, at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 North Morrison Street, Appleton, with Rev. Ralph C. Waack officiating. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 13 from 4 until 7 p.m. and again at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to benefit St. Paul Ev. Lutheran School and Fox Valley Lutheran High School are appreciated.
