Age 90, died on Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Cherry Meadows, Appleton. Margaret was born on October 1, 1913, in Appleton to the late Robert and Emelie (Schroeder) Hinzman. In 1939 she married Harvey Pekel; the marriage was blessed with two daughters, Carol and Monnie. Margaret was a longtime, faithful and active member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aid for over 50 years. Survivors include her daughters, Carol (Sid) Landsverk, Neenah, and Monnie [Jansen] (Don) Vick, Appleton; her grandchildren Daniel (Karen) Landsverk, Todd (Karen) Landsverk, David (DeAnn) Landsverk, Joel (Michelle) Landsverk; Bill (Janelle) Jansen; Steven Jansen; Christopher Jansen, Erik Jansen and Meghan Jansen (fiancé Corey Perron); her great grandchildren, Andrew, Jennifer, Adam, Alex, Silas, Shae and Sydney Landsverk, and Brady and Mason Jansen. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews, special friends, extended family, caregivers and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Laura and Mabel and her brothers, Elmer and Clarence and her son-in-law, Bob Jansen. Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2004, at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 South Mason Street, Appleton, with Rev. Jeffrey Verbeke and Rev. Paul T. Schuler officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 2:00 p .m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. A memorial has been established in her name. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Cherry Meadows for their loving care.
