The “Wind of Peace” has taken Margaret Bridget Romenesko, age 89, home to be with those who preceded her on this journey. Margaret was born in Montreal, Wisconsin on June 12, 1916. She graduated from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. In January, 1948, she married Leon “Butch” Romenesko. Her career as a registered nurse began at St. Elizabeth Hospital with private duty to many families as well as compassionately serving the senior population and retiring from Peabody Manor. Margaret’s passions included: spending time with her family, golfing, bowling and traveling with her beloved husband, Leon “Butch” Romenesko.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Butch; a sister, Eleonore Hanson; brothers: Michael and Gerard Smith; nephews: Jeff, Dan and Roger Hanson; a grandson: Kevin Lutzow and many other dear friends:
Margaret took great pride and love in raising her family. Margaret and Butch raised five children: Terry (Catherine) Sharron, Larry (Mary) Sharron, Mary Kay (Tom) Lutzow, Mike (Kay) Romenesko and Patrick (Sandy) Romenesko. Margaret is also survived by nine grandchildren: Scott (Ann) and Chris (AJ) Sharron, Nora Baier, Leah Lutzow and Brian Lutzow, Keith and Cory Romenesko, Craig (Kate) and Kim Romenesko, Greg Sharron, Tina Sharron-Gordon, Bill and Tony Church and Darrell Sharron. There are also 14 great grandchildren celebrating Margaret’s journey.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2401 Main Avenue, Kaukauna . Family will greet friends from 10-11:30 a.m. with a mass to follow. Fr. Jerry Pastors will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family would like to thank those who served Margaret’s need the past years, especially Affinity Hospice, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Darboy Living Center, Comfort Care Homes and all those who cared for her.
A memorial fund in Margaret’s name is being established. Contributions will go toward Alzheimer’s research.
