Age 83 died on Thursday, August 9, 2001, at St. Paul Home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 22, 1917, in Kaukauna the daughter of the late John and Anna (Reinhardt) Deno. She was a 1935 graduate of Kaukauna High School. Margaret married Earl Asman on April 29, 1937. She was a resident of Kaukauna most of her life. Margaret was a God-fearing, loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Margaret loved to cook and bake, and opened her spotless home to spoil many. Margaret is survived by her husband of 64 years, Earl, four children: Elaine (Gordon) Guse, Ontario, Canada; Mark (Judy) Asman, Kaukauna; Sherry (Douglas) Bennett, Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Linda (Tim) Sassman, Appleton; 12 grandchildren: April (Chuck) Fichthorn, Kevin (Leitha), Philip (Tricia), and Brent (Carole) Guse, Peter Asman, LeeAnn (Tony) LyndonRacho, David (Heather), Jonathan (Beverlie), and Nathan Bennett, Andrew, Carrie, and Heather Sassman; 15 great grandchildren: Ben, Jordan, Bethany, Kayla, Jenna, Hannah, Rebecca, Abbi, Alexzandra, Caleb, Ryan, Shane, Xander, Austin and Ashley; two sisters: Laura Belongia, and Gertrude (William) Nagel. Margaret is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers-in-law: Alfa (Nick) Esler, Edna (Gust) Fosberg and Lawrence Belongia. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fargo Funeral Home, with Pastor James Grosse officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday and again on Monday from 12:00 until the time of service. A memorial fund is being established for the Calvary Baptist Church, Kaukauna.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jennifer Schoening and to Pastor James Grosse, for the special attention they gave to Margaret and the family. Thanks also go to the staff at St. Paul Home, Appleton Medical Center, Franciscan Care and Rehab Center, and St. Elizabeth Hospital for the care and compassion extended to Margaret in her final weeks.
