Age 63, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton following a lingering illness.
Marcia was born April 29, 1937 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late Edward and Viola (Smith) Janssen. On April 29, 1957, she married Marvin Butch Dietzen in Kaukauna; he survives. Marcia was a 1955 graduate of Kaukauna High School, and for many years was employed as the payroll clerk at Appleton Papers Locks Mill. Prior to her retirement, she was proud to have received the Golden Apple Award for exceptional service. In her younger years, she was active in scouting. Marcia will be remembered as an avid card player, and she always enjoyed her occasional trips to the casino with family and friends. Marcia always treasured the time spent with her grandchildren in Minnesota.
She is survived by her husband: Marvin Dietzen of Kimberly; one daughter: Nancie (Mark) Delebo of Eagan, Minnesota; one son: Lee (Amy) Dietzen of Green Bay; two grandsons: Benjamin and Thomas Delebo of Eagan, Minnesota; sisters: three sisters: Joanne (Gary) Ganzyk of Menasha; Shirley Janssen of Kaukauna; Linda (Jim) Fredericksen of Kenosha; three brothers: Richard (Karen) Janssen of Kimberly; Carl (Kathy) Janssen of Kaukauna; Gary Janssen of Kaukauna; two sisters-in-law: Phyllis Janssen of Kaukauna and Grace Dietzen of Barrington, Illinois. Marcia is further survived by Butchs sisters and brothers: Shirley Better of Kimberly; Carla (Earl) Wallace of Combined Locks; Donna (Richard) Van Grinsven of Little Chute; Ronald (Mary) Dietzen of Appleton; Joseph (Rose) Dietzen of Kimberly. Marcia is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Laurie, an infant sister Mary, a brother James Janssen, brothers-in-law Kenneth Dietzen and Emil Better, and her father and mother-in-law Joseph and Clara (Anderson) Dietzen.
The funeral liturgy for Marcia will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 24, 2001 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the liturgy. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service at the funeral home at 7:00 PM Friday.
