Maggie M. Mauthe

January 27, 1946 — September 28, 2022

Appleton

Margaret M. Mauthe died, age 76, passed away on September 28, 2022, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Her family was at her side. Maggie was born January 27, 1946, in Appleton, daughter of the late Chet and Alvina (Van Landghen) Mauthe. She attended Appleton schools and as a young woman competed in the Miss Appleton Pageant where she was awarded both Miss Congeniality and Best Talent. A lover of music, Maggie grew up harmonizing with her sisters around the house, entertaining the entire family. She had a special love for country music – some say she sounded like her favorite singer Connie Francis - and was a regular attendee at Country USA with her longtime friend Marv Grunske.

The holidays were her favorite time of the year, and she enjoyed all the excitement that came and along with decorating and preparing for that special time of year. Many will remember that Maggie worked for and retired from Eggers in Neenah, a manufacturer of wooden doors.

She is survived by her three sisters: Donna L. Popp of Neenah, Barbara Mauthe of Appleton, and Beverly (Pat) McKeen of Illinois. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Her passing will also be mourned by her dear friend Mary Abel as well as her good friend Marv.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings Robert Mauthe, Jim Mauthe, Lois (Carl) Schroeder, Jerry Mauthe, Marvin Mauthe, Carol Iverson, and Bucky Miller.

A family gathering is being planned, closer to the holidays, Maggie’s favorite season.

All who knew Maggie loved her so. She was a kind and gentle soul who loved generously. Rest peacefully Maggie. We will miss you so.
