Magdalene Schmitt

Marge Schmitt, age 91, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2006 at a local nursing home. Marge was born in Kimberly on May 12, 1915, daughter of the late Martin and Odelia (Verhagen) Gerrits. In August of 1937, she married Lloyd Schmitt; he preceded her in death in 1982. Marge enjoyed playing cards, reading, and playing bingo. Her most treasured times were those spent with her loving family, which includes a daughter: Donna (Larry) Wichman of Combined Locks; three grandchildren: Tim (Debbie) Wichman and their sons Matt and Jacob; Christine (Jamie) Merckx and their children Kyle and Eryn; and Lori (Terry) Ver Voort and their children Nicole and Nathan; two brothers: Joseph Gerrits of Appleton and LaVern (Mary) Gerrits of Combined Locks; two sisters-in-law: Ceil Anderson of Kaukauna and Arlene VandenBoogart of Appleton; and a brother-in-law: Corey Van Boxtel of Kimberly. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1982, and by brothers and sisters: Lucy (Raymond) Montonati, Alice (Bill) Jansen, Clarence (Mildred) Gerrits, Ceil (Martin) Van Beek, Martha (Corky) Janssen, Wilbur (Rosella) Gerrits, and Betty Van Boxtel.

The funeral liturgy for Marge will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 East Wallace Street in Combined Locks with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
