Lucille L. Schroeder of Greenville, age 102, died on October 23, 2023, at Rennes. Lucille was born January 2, 1921, to Arthur and Linda (Jentz) Plamann in Grand Chute one of four children. She married Chester “Chuck” Schroeder on June 15, 1940, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Cille and Chuck raised their children as they lived and farmed on north Casaloma Drive for 40+ years, and in 1990 they moved to Greenville.
Lucille was an active member of the ladies’ aid group at St Paul Ev Lutheran Church, Appleton. She and her late husband Chester were active in the Fox Valley, being musicians, they played many events in around the area. She was also a past officer and member of the Sunshine Club and was active in the Home Community Education group (HCE). In her free time, Lucille enjoyed bowling.
Lucille is survived by her children Gary (Phyllis) Schroeder, Greenville, and Judy Schermitzler, Green Bay; grandchildren: Mark Schroeder, Greenville, Michael Schroeder, Greenville, Robert (Denise) Schermitzler, Green Bay, Scott (Janet) Schermitzler, Green Bay, Brian (Amber) Schermitzler, Green Bay; as well as 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister Arlene (Robert) Huebner; sister-in-law: Lila Schroeder as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is predeceased by her husband Chester, her parents, brothers Merlin (Adeline) Plamann Donald Plamann, and granddaughter Robin Schroeder; daughter-in-law Judy Schroeder; son-in-law Ken Schermitzler; brother and sister-in-law: Norman Schroeder and Skip Sager.
A funeral service for Lucille will be held on Thursday October 26, 2023, at 11:00am at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 10:00am until the start of the service. Lucille will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
The family would like to thank the staff at Renaissance and Rennes Care as well as the staff from AsceraCare Hospice for their care of mom.
