Age 81, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died Monday morning, March 4, 2002. She was born May 29, 1920, to the late William and Martha (Brandenberg) Burmeister, in the town of Seymour. Lucille graduated from New London High School and Outagamie County Rural Normal School and taught in rural schools for five years. Until losing her eyesight, she enjoyed keeping house, cooking, baking, gardening, crafts and reading. Lucille was an active member of Center Emmanuel United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women’s Society and the Busy Bee’s Homemakers. Survivors included her husband, Wesley E. Lohrenz; four children, Barb Lohrenz, Anaheim, CA; Bill Lohrenz, Appleton; Becky and Russ Holdiman, Abrams; Mike and Charm Lohrenz, Oneida; three grandchildren, Colton, Mackenzie and Gabrielle Lohrenz; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ellen Burmeister, Dorothy Allmers, Mildred Marcks and a brother, Harvey Burmeister. Funeral services for Lucille will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 7, 2002, at CENTER EMMANUEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, corner of Hample and Pleasant Roads, Center, with Reverend Lewis Lebakken officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 – 8 pm Wednesday and on Thursday, at the church from 10:00 am, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
