Lucille Bigalke

Age 79, died at Encore Senior Villa, Beloit, Wisconsin, on Sunday, December 23, 2001. Lucille was born on February 22, 1922, in Willmar, Minnesota, to the late Edwin A. and Laura (Lundberg) Danielson. She earned a registered nursing degree and served her country as a nurse in the United States Army during WWII. Lucille was later employed at Kimberly-Clark Corporation in their Health and Wellness Center. She married Alfred W. Bigalke on June 8, 1946, in St. Paul, Minnesota; he preceded her in death on April 25, 1996. Survivors include her son, Terance (Jan) Bigalke, Ph.D., Honolulu/Beloit; her daughter, Vicki (Jim) Kowalsky, Psy.D., Chicago; and Timothy (Kathy DePaola,) Bigalke, Ph.D., San Francisco; 7 grandchildren, Sonja and Eric Bigalke; Cristofer and Olivia Kowalsky; Sophie, Hannah and Lily Bigalke. Lucille was preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd, John and Dale Danielson. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2001, at PRINCE OF PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2330 East Calumet Street, Appleton, with Rev. Roger McQuistion officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Neenah. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to benefit Alzheimer’s research would be appreciated.
