Lt. Col. Ronald C. Lindeke, USAF retired, 75, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Appleton Medical Center.
Ron was born on August 30, 1940 to Harold and Goldie (Rutherford) Lindeke in St. Paul, Minnesota. The family moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin shortly thereafter. He was President of his 1958 graduating class at Eau Claire Memorial high school. Ron then completed his liberal arts degree at UW Eau Claire in 1962. He served in the US Air Force for 22 years, retiring in 1984 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He concluded his professional career working at Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works, retiring in 1999 after 13 years as the Director of Communications.
After retirement, Ron moved to Las Vegas, where he ran a small business and traveled extensively with a small group of close friends.
Ron is survived by his nephew, Bill (Jeanine) Lindeke, Appleton. He will be missed by his great nieces and nephews; Christopher (Anna) Lindeke, New Berlin, Jennifer (Andrew) Tate, St. Louis, Missouri, Michael Lindeke, Milwaukee and Sara Lindeke, Milwaukee. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, brother Hal, and sister-in-law Jean.
