Louise Pellett passed away early Thursday morning March 29, 2018 at ThedaCare Hospital – Appleton. She was born May 31, 1928 in Grand Forks ND to James and Jessie Porter. Since her father was an FBI agent, Louise lived in numerous states including; North Dakota, Minnesota, Connecticut, Delaware, and Washington D.C. The family eventually settled in Boscobel WI where Louise graduated from High School. She then went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition.
After meeting during college in Madison WI, Louise married Allwin (Al) Pellett on June 17, 1950. Following graduation, she worked in product development at Oscar Mayer in Madison. Later, after five children, Louise returned to the workforce and dedicated 24 years to the Department of Social Services – Child Protection Division – Outagamie County Wisconsin.
Louise was an educator and trainer as she team-taught Sunday School for 14 years, helped teach reading to at-risk students for 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades, and volunteered at AMC Hospital (now ThedaCare Hospital – Appleton).
Louise enjoyed sewing, knitting and playing board games. She also enjoyed camping with the family; she, Al and their kids made numerous cross-country camping trips. Louise was an active member of Bible Study Class at Saint James United Methodist Church of Appleton. Following retirement, Louise found time to become the matriarch of information for our Ancestral and Family genealogy.
Louise is survived by her loving husband Al Pellett; five children: Glen (Carol) Mount Pleasant SC, Wayne (Sue Jones) Winneconne WI, Brian (Robyn Hanshaw) Milwaukee WI, Lorna Mullen (Robert) Appleton WI, Dale (Theresa) Appleton WI; a brother, Donald Porter (Joann) Tucson AZ; and a sister Alice Caulkins (Scott) Green Valley AZ. She is further survived by grandchildren: Mark (Peggy) Catawba SC, Michael (Jill) Rock Hill SC, Abe (Robyn) Manawa WI, Lucas (Jacci) McChord AFB-Olympia WA, Joy De La Cruz (Jake) Menasha WI, Kelly Mullen (Aaron Lyons) Columbus WI, Becca Mullen Lakewood CO, Jennifer Dial (Derek) Fishers IN, Gavin Pellett (US Army) Fort Huachuca AZ, Jayna Pellett Appleton WI; six great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She will be greatly missed by her family and all who were acquainted with her.
