It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the passing of Lori Ann Lemke. She was taken from us on March 8, 2025 at 5:00 AM after more than five years of courageously fighting Stage 4 HER2+ breast cancer. She was born in Appleton, WI on March 28, 1979 to Michael and Darla (Schultz) Schoenberger. After graduating from Neenah High School in 1997, Lori went on to pursue a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
For those who knew Lori, thinking back to the day you met her will surely bring a smile to your face. Her warmth, kindness, and infectious energy left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Lori’s greatest passion in life was being a mother. She adored Liam and Mila beyond words, and her gentle, nurturing spirit helped shape them into the incredible young people they are today.
Lori’s love for her family was boundless. She and her twin sister, Amy, shared an unbreakable bond—two halves of the same heart, always connected. Her parents, Mike and Darla, were her lifelong sources of love and support, and she adored them with all her heart. She also had a deep connection with her cousins, sharing years of laughter, memories, and love. But Lori’s family extended far beyond blood; her friends became family, spanning across the country, each one touched by her kindness, warmth, and ability to make everyone feel special. She had a rare gift for bringing people together, making lasting friendships that crossed borders and generations.
Lori had a natural talent for all things creative. Whether it was sewing children’s dresses with impeccable craftsmanship, painting across various mediums, or capturing life’s most precious moments through her photography business, her artistic eye and attention to detail were unmatched. She had a deep love for natural light photography, and nothing brought her more joy than photographing newborn babies. Her artistic gifts extended beyond her work—she had an undeniable sense of style, always dressed in the cutest outfits, with a radiant smile to match.
Lori’s creativity wasn’t limited to art; she had a deep love for nature, especially her ever-growing collection of plants—her “spider babies,” as she affectionately called them. She found peace and joy in nurturing her greenery, filling her home with life. She also had a special place in her heart for Summit Lake at the family cottage, where countless summers were spent soaking in the beauty of the water, the warmth of the campfire, and the laughter of loved ones. Some of her fondest memories were made at the lake, where she found adventure and connection with nature.
Always full of energy, Lori was constantly in motion—whether it was starting a new home project, painting kitchen cupboards, or zipping around town on her electric bike. She had an extraordinary ability to bring people together and was loved by friends far and wide and everywhere in between.
A true thrill-seeker, Lori loved wakeboarding and was always up for a new challenge. Just last August, she embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Lake Tahoe to learn to wake surf, proving yet again that nothing could hold her back. That same fearless determination carried her through every challenge, especially her battle with cancer. Despite the hardships she faced, Lori refused to let cancer define her. She lived with a sheer force of will, never allowing her diagnosis to steal her joy, her love, or her adventurous spirit.
Lori was one of the good ones—her light, her love, and her laughter will be profoundly missed.
Lori is survived by her loving husband, David, and their two cherished children, Liam (15) and Mila (13), who were her greatest joy and deepest love. She also leaves behind her identical twin sister, Amy (Jonathon) Krueger and nieces Mikayla (13) and Elaina (10). She will be forever missed by her devoted parents, Mike and Darla Schoenberger and of course by her beloved cats, Asher and Baby Kitty. She is further survived by her in-laws Tom (Pat) Lemke and brothers-in-law Tim (Sue) Lemke, Pete (Deidra) Lemke and Matt Lemke.
Lori's life will be celebrated on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Electric City Lanes, 136 W. Wisconsin Ave in Kaukauna, WI. Please note that there will be no public service. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her memory during this open house.
