Lori F. Lamers, age 57, of Kaukauna, passed in the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Cherry Meadows. Her courageous battle with ovarian cancer has come to an end. She was our beacon of strength until the very end and will be missed by all of those have known her. For those of you that have truly known Lori, she chose to write her own obituary:
“I've had a great life! As I have said so many times, I would never change my life with anyone else. I've been blessed with so many GOOD friends and a huge loving family. McCain Foods was my employer for 28 years, until I could no longer work.
I was born on August 18, 1957, in Kaukauna to Frank and Patricia (Verkuilen) Lamers and was raised in Combined Locks. The second of nine children, my siblings include:
Gary Lamers, and his children: Sara (Paul) Wasmund, Emily Lamers and her daughters, Taylin and Tenley Lamers,
Lisa (Russ) Bowers, and their children: Aleana (Brad) Lindberg, and their daughter Graycn Lindberg, Monica Peeters and Ella Peeters ,
Lynn (Keith) Keller, and their children: Don and Marc Keller,
Lois (Tim) Collins and their children: Steven (Nichole) Schilcher and their children, Aubrey and Leland Schilcher; and Brian Schilcher and his son, Ben Schilcher; and Christopher Collins,
Dennis Lamers and his son, Jake Lamers,
Lee Ann (Jaime) Schmitting, and their children: Ellie and Katie Schmitting,
Loni Lamers, and her children: Samantha (Andrew) Richardson and their daughters, Lillyraine, Lorelai and Leirabelle Richardson; Michael Vogel and Louis Lamers,
and Leslie (Norb) Brunner.
I have been preceded in death by my father Frank J. Lamers and my grandparents, Arnold and Petronella Lamers, and Louis and Viola Verkuilen.
Thank you to all that have been by my side throughout my life. To all of the staff at St. Vincent Hospital, everyone was so wonderful to me. Also the Hospice staff that helped me stay in comfort at my home, which is where I wanted to be.

The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
