Age 86, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Appleton Medical Center. Loma was born on March 18, 1915, in Appleton to the late William and Bertha (Grube) Roocks. She married Hugh M. Jury on December 24, 1940, in Appleton; he preceded her in death in September of 1990. Loma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 80 years. Together with her husband, she enjoyed traveling, dancing, and the Elks Club. Survivors include her sister Guinevere Behrent; her brother Stanley (Delores) Roocks; her dear cousin, Lucille Forster; and her best friend, Gertrude Schmidt, all of Appleton. She was preceded in death by her brother Erwin (Ruth) Roocks. Funeral services will be a 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2001, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Appleton, with Rev. Chris Lee-Thompson of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established in Loma’s name to benefit Trinity Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Franciscan Care Center for their loving care.
