Age 70, passed away on Friday afternoon, September 14, 2007 at Appleton Medical Center with her family at her side. She was born on August 29, 1937 in Illinois to the late Rev. John and Adelaide (Schoening) Westphal. On January 10, 1959 she married Leonard Tessen in Gillett, Wisconsin, and they shared 48 wonderful years. Lois was a long time employee of AAL. She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Bell Choir, and also an usher. Lois enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her pets, playing cards with her family, and playing Bingo.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Lenny; her children: Steve (Special Friend Pam) Tessen, Neenah; Gary (Linda) Tessen, Kaukauna; Doug (Vicki) Tessen, Kimberly; Jeff (Janet) Tessen, Kaukauna; Debbie (Special Friend Vicki) Tessen, Darboy; and several grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings: Leroy (Carol) Westphal, MI; Melvin (Esther) Westphal, CA; Loretta (Carl) Schoessel, MI; Rhoda (Paul) Rittmueller, KS; Dick (Sue) Pillsbury, Oconto; brother-in-law: Lee (Rita) Tessen, Kaukauna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Emma Tessen, and brother-in-law, Harold Tessen.

Funeral services for Lois will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, September 17, 2007 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (2220 East College Avenue) with Revs. Timothy Seabaugh and Martin Koeller officiating. Friends may call at the church from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
