After a heroic battle with dementia, Lois V. Grimh (Shilts) passed away April 17, 2018 at the age of 76.
Born in Winter, Wis., Lois attended Winter School. Her marriage to James Grimh of Radisson, Wis. moved her to Texas, where they established a commercial fishing business. Lois returned to Wisconsin in 1978 and later worked for the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development until her retirement in 2009. Lois was very proud of her career. In her 20-plus years, she worked in Menasha, Green Bay and Madison, and served as a counselor, trainer and project director.
Lois loved her home, gardens and neighborhood in Kimberly, Wis. But most of all, she loved her family.
She is survived by four children, Dennis (Michelle), Scott (Gladys), Tani, and Shelly (Chris) Reinke; seven grandchildren, Jamie Roemer, Tyler (Ana), Ryan (fiancée Samantha Coyle), Rachel, Christa, Rayne Reinke and Noelle Reinke; two great-grandchildren, Vance Roemer and Lyla; two brothers, Everett (DeLois) and Ted (Delma) Shilts; two half-brothers, Jon (Laurie) and Roth Shilts; sister-in-law Conchita Bambala; and brother-in-law Don Malkowski. Lois was loved and will be missed by many.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Veronica Shilts; her brothers, Tim, Jerry and Ray; and her sister Nancy (Shilts) Malkowski.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staffs at Grand Horizons and Atrium Post-Acute Care for the care they provided Lois in her last years.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Jansen-Fargo Funeral Home, 204 E. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly, Wis. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m., with a tribute to Lois at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is establishing a memorial fund in Lois’s name.
