Lois Peot, age 85, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born on December 25, 1929, in Luxemburg, to the late John and Clara (Sell) Peot. Lois graduated from Luxemburg High School and attended Teacher's College. She taught for five years in the Kewaunee County rural schools. Lois was employed at AAL (now Thrivent) for 34 years until her retirement. She was a co-chair for the Sole Burner for 25 years, and active in the Relay for Life and Jail and Bail fundraisers. Lois was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, and volunteered at Goodwill and The Salvation Army. She was an avid Packers and Badgers fan, and enjoyed gardening and reading.
Lois is survived by her sister-in-law Gladys Peot; nieces and nephews: Lynn (Joe Everetts) Miller, Reid Peot, Mary (Luis) Vallejo, Jean (Jim) Fabry, Sally (Dan) Deneys, Jack (Gayle) Peot, and Scott Peot along with their families. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Alvah, Arthur (Midge) and Earl (Connie) Peot and nephew Stuart Peot.
The funeral service for Lois will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, April 6, 2015 at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 601 East Glendale Avenue in Appleton. Rev. Daniel Thews will be officiating. A private burial will take place at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Luxemburg. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Fox Valley Humane Society and Faith Lutheran Church are appreciated. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
