Louise “Lois” B. (Ulrich) Dahl, 99, Menasha, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. She was born on March 30, 1922, in Neenah to the late Raymond and Viola (Goeser) Ulrich. Lois was united in marriage to Lawrence “Bud” H. Dahl on September 30, 1944, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha, where they were lifelong members. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1989.
Lois was a stay-at-home Mom before going to work at Walgreens for many years. She loved going up-north to Eagle River every summer from the time her children were young and continued going with them as the family tradition continues to this day. Christmas was always the biggest celebration. Her entire family packed into her home, sharing delicious food and tons of presents under the tree. She made sure everyone felt loved and lit up whenever her grandchildren were around. Every spring she made homemade strawberry jam and her freezer was always stocked. Lois enjoyed doing crafts and loved playing Rummy, especially with Bud. She was the last survivor of her graduating class of 1940 from St. Mary’s High School. Her much loved dog, Muffin, kept her company for many years and while staying with Diane and Denny, their dogs Hannah and Bella brought her many smiles.
Lois will be missed by her daughters Sharron Mericle, Rita Heinz, Diane (Denny) Nackers, Carla (Tom) Williamson, son-in-law Darryl Quimby; grandchildren Vicky (Chuck) Plumbley, Carrie (Larry) Smit, Michael (Kerri), Heather (Scott) Kolodziej, Trina (Guy) Lux, Nick (Bardha Gast), Melissa (Karla Perdomo), Joe (Colleen Kohl), Jesse (Stephanie), Tyler (Angela), Trevor (Amy), Alexandra; great-grandchildren Nicole (Sam Melzer), Ashley (Tyler Elliott), Payton (Alyssa Barnes), Josh, Brooke, Jacob, Evan, Maya, Bryce, Arion, Hailey, Leah, Landon, Gavin, Sadie, Cheyenne, Ryder, Paisley, Eleanor, Oliver; great-great-grandchildren Wesley, Palmer, Wyatt and Carson. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Quimby, sisters Lucille (Jerome) Knabenbauer and Elizabeth, sons-in-law Gilbert Mericle, Mike Heinz and great-granddaughter McKenzie Lukasavage
