Lizabeth Murphy

Lizabeth Murphy, age 84, of Appleton, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at her home on December 25, 2014 with her husband and family by her side.

She was born on October 18, 1930 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Hubert and Pauline (Schmit) La Porte and grew up in Houghton, Michigan before moving to Appleton at the age of 19. She married Kevin Murphy on August 4, 1973 where she spent 41 wonderful years together.

Lizabeth enjoyed playing music, singing and was a talented artist. She also enjoyed her plants and loved to garden. Her greatest joys were artistic endeavors, her children and great grandchildren. Lizabeth enjoyed the special times they spent together, which will always be treasured.

Lizabeth is survived by her husband Kevin, her six children; Christine Makris, Gary (Wendy) Groves , Michele (Tom) Makris, Susan (John) Nagel, Julie (Bob) Green and Rob (Kitty) Groves, 17 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother James LaPorte, nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
Lizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Pauline (Schmit) LaPorte, her son Mark and a brother Hubert LaPorte.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, TRI COUNTY CHAPEL, 1592 Oneida St., Menasha. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
