Linda Carol Schillaci nee (Zigas) passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the age of 72.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 21, 1950, to the late John and Lottie Zigas. She was one of seven children. In 1969, she earned her diploma from Tilden Tech High School. She married Bob Schillaci on June 19, 1976, and they settled in the suburbs of Chicago to start a family. She later had two daughters and made them her world.
Linda decided to join the workforce in 1988 to help her family. She worked in the manufacturing field until 1999. During the same time, she was given a new title, grandmother. Her first grandchild, Jordan, was welcomed into the world. Everyone knew she was a great mother, but when she became a grandmother, it was as if her heart doubled in size. This was what she was always meant to be. She took pride in looking after her granddaughter so her daughter could work.
In 2007, Linda and Bob moved to Mercer, Wisconsin to retire and make a new life for themselves.
Three years later, Linda’s second grandchild, a grandson named Jesse, was welcomed into the family. Her life was complete. One of each. We had never seen her happier.
She loved most to be with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her plants; she loved to laugh and joke with us. She was the life of the party! She enjoyed shopping, buying things for her daughters, and most of all, having a clean house! It was good for her soul.
She took care of everyone. Always made Dad home-cooked meals, kept a beautiful house, and offered wise advice (and a dollar or two) when you needed it.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Victoria Hoffman nee (Nosal), and her sister and brother-in-law Annie and Lenny Lukwinski.
She is survived by her husband Bob Schillaci, her daughters Shannon (Shawn) Vanderlois and Desiree’ (Mike) McClarren, granddaughter Jordan Schillaci, and grandson Jesse McClarren. Also, brothers Ted (MaryAnn) Nosal, Ken (Linda) Zigas, Paul (Elma) Zigas, and David (Margerie) Zigas. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mom, you were the bravest and strongest person we will ever know, and we will love you for all the rest of our days.

The visitation will take place at Becvar and Son Funeral Home (5539 W 127th St, Crestwood, IL 60418) beginning at 11AM and concluding at 2PM. Also, there will be a graveside service and burial held at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery (5539 W 127th St, Crestwood, IL 60418) at 2:30PM.
