Linda M. Salzmann (nee Rashid) passed away peacefully at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton, with her daughter by her side, on Wednesday December 2, 2020. She was 76 years loved.
In her younger days Linda enjoyed snowmobiling and camping. She always loved music and was often heard saying, “This is my favorite song!” Her love for reading, dancing, a good hand at poker and any family get together was ageless. She loved all holidays, especially Halloween because she didn’t have to buy any gifts! Her greatest life achievement was raising her four children and her Grandson Blaze. They were the absolute most important things to her.
Linda was the first born to Floyd and Ramona (nee Seidler) Rashid. She was the oldest of 4 siblings. Linda married Ron Salzmann. The story goes that after Ron and Linda courted for 3 short months, Ron knew he had someone special in Linda and they married June 23, 1965. We are told that they sat knee-to-knee on their wedding night and said “no hard feelings if this does not work out.” Ron and Linda were married for 45 years when Ron passed away August 15, 2010. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Lisa, Brad, Brian and Matthew.
Linda was always crafty and you could usually find some of her artwork displayed in her home. Most recently she found “paint-by-numbers” as her creative outlet.
She moved back to Wisconsin after Ron’s passing to be close to Brad and Matthew and to maintain ties with her cousins; again demonstrating the importance family had in her life.
Linda is survived by her children: Lisa (Steve) Varzino, Brad Salzmann, Brian (Bambi) Salzmann, and Matthew (Teri) Salzmann; her grandchildren: Jessica, Jenna, Michael, Jordan, Vicki, Ethan, Emma, Evan, Owen, Blaze, Zach, Mercedes and Daniel; great-grandchildren Parker, Kadance, Isaiah, Delilah, Karsyn, Dean and Lydia; three brothers: Edward (Mary), Floyd and Dan (Michelle) as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald; her parents, Floyd and Ramona (nee Seidler) Rashid; her mother and father-in-law, Walter and Beatrice (Delger) Salzmann; her sister-in-law, Audrey Nett, and several very special four-legged companions including Mack and Leia.
For those of you interested in a service for Linda, the family is planning to do something next summer, when (hopefully) COVID restrictions are rolled back and we can all be together. Details forthcoming.
The family would like to thank the staff at Theda Care for the compassionate and thorough care they provided to Linda during a time when her family was not able to be with her. It means a great deal to them.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund was established in her name, via GoFundMe, to help Blaze. The family would be grateful for any financial help to assist in getting Blaze established.
