Linda Lyon, age 66 of Greenville, passed away at her home on Friday evening, June 17, 2016. Linda was born in Sterling, Illinois on September 25, 1949, daughter of the late Harrel and Lillie (Hooppaw) Miller, Sr. She was a 1967 graduate of the Rock Falls High School and also attended beauty school. She worked for a time as a beautician in Illinois, but after marrying Tom Lyon on May 14, 1977, the couple relocated to Wisconsin and started a family.
Linda will be remembered as a loving woman who enjoyed children, giving and receiving hugs, and reading a good book. She accepted everyone for who they were and never asked for anything more.
Linda is survived by her husband: Tom Lyon of Greenville; two children: Stephanie (Kristopher) Krause of Appleton and Tim Lyon of Greenville; two grandsons: Joseph Krause and Elijah Krause; a step-granddaughter: Kassandra Krause; two sisters: Clyda (William) Jablonsky and Sylvia (Ronald) Harrison, both of Rock Falls, Illinois; a brother: Harrel (Ruby) Miller, Jr. of Rock Falls, Illinois; a brother-in-law: Jeffrey (Karen) Lyon of South Milwaukee; a sister-in-law: Peggy (Charles) Reetz of Kimberly; and her mother-in-law: Beverly Lyon of Appleton; There are also many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and by her father-in-law: Lincoln Lyon.
The funeral liturgy for Linda will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence Street in Appleton, with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM, Cap. officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
