VERBETEN, LILLIAN “MARIE”

Lillian “Marie” Verbeten, of Kimberly, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2006 at Cherry Meadows Hospice with her family at her side. She was born April 18, 1924, to John and Lillian Greis in Escanaba, Michigan. Marie graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1942. She married Francis Verbeten on September 26, 1944 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Escanaba and has resided in Kimberly until her passing.

Marie is survived by her husband Francis of 62 years; five children: William (Minty) Verbeten, Breaks, Virginia; Diane (Greg) Lemmers, Muskego; Janet (Stephen) Sanders, Manitowoc; Michael (Teresa) Verbeten, Norcross, Georgia and Amy (John) Jensen, Appleton; grandchildren: Beau (Katie) Sanders, Quinn Sanders, Matt Leitner, Peter and Marissa Verbeten and Ben Jensen; siblings: John (Irma) Greis, Mike (Annette) Greis, Marge Milokna, Jim (Sharon) Greis, and Tom (Martha) Greis; sisters-in-law: Rosanne Van Ryzin, Gretchen Hornung and Julienne Rusch and brother-in-law Richard (Janet) Verbeten. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law: Joseph Milokna, Howard Van Ryzin, Bob Hornung and Maynard Rusch.

The funeral liturgy for Marie will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 7, 2006 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, 600 E. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will take place at the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Community Hospice Foundation.

Marie’s family would like to thank Drs. Bar-Lev and Swanson and the staff at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, as well as the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice.
