Lillian G. (Beachkofski) Schipferling
Age 81
Of Menasha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2003 at VallHaven Care Center, Neenah. Lillian was born on March 12, 1922 in Menasha, Wisconsin the daughter of the late Bernard and Emily (Zeininger) Beachkofski. She was a lifelong resident of Menasha, graduating from St. Mary’s High School in 1940. Lillian married her high school sweetheart, Frank Schipferling in 1945, a wartime wedding in Washington, D.
C. Frank preceded her in death in 1994. Lillian attended Mercy School of Nursing and later received a nursing degree from Marion College of Fond du Lac, a career to which she devoted her entire life. Lillian worked as an occupational health nurse for American Can, retiring after 37 years. She worked part-time at Theda Clark Hospital and later at Vallhaven Care Center until age 70. Lillian spent endless hours caring for others, whether it be friends, family, or strangers and was deeply touched by the pain of others. Her hobbies included: knitting, needlepointing and doting on her grandchildren. Lillian is survived by one daughter, Gwen (David) Gloss, Appleton; three grandchildren: Andrew, Alison, and Jack; one brother, Marvin (Lorraine) Beachkofski, Menasha; one sister, Grace Dumke, Menasha; 22 nieces and nephews and their children. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Ruth Taves.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha with Father Paul Radetski officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, August 4, 2003 at the funeral home from 4 until 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM. A memorial fund is being established in her name and may be directed to Xavier High School.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Steven Knaus, Dr. Brian Sears and the staff at Vallhaven Care Center for their compassionate care and concern.
