Lewis H. Precourt
Neenah
Age 70, formerly of Appleton passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2001 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Facility. He was born on April 16, 1931 in Plover, Wisconsin the son of the late Neal C. and Hazel M. (Cram) Precourt. He graduated from Appleton High School in 1949. Lew received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1953 from Stout Institute in Menomonie, Wisconsin. On November 27, 1954 he married Barbara “Boots” Maes in Appleton. He started his teaching career in Davenport, Iowa, and taught in the Neenah school system for 27 years at Neenah High School. He also served as the director of swimming pools for the City of Appleton from 1955 to 1987. Lew was a member of the Neenah Club, the First United Methodist Church in Neenah, National Education Association, Neenah Education Association, and the United Commercial Travelers.
He is survived by his wife Barbara “Boots” of Neenah, his two children Terry (Kim) Precourt of Neenah, Debbie (Tony) Scaffidi of Slinger, Wisconsin; his aunt Eleanor Cram of Tomah, Wisconsin; his cousins Lois Precourt of Stevens Point, Roger (Barbara) Precourt of Lafayette, Indiana, John (Barbara) Cram, and Jim (JoAnn) Cram, Pat Rylee all of Tomah, Rita ( Robert) Likely of Stevens Point; and his sister-in-law Shirley Kohl of Appleton. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law Clayton Kohl.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 8, 2001 at 11:00 AM at Wichmann Funeral Home with the Rev. Gordon Lind officiating. Interment will take place at the Plover Cemetery in Plover, Wisconsin. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the time of the services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
