“Bud”
Little Chute
Age 75, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 17, 2008 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. Bud was born on November 10, 1932 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, the son of the late Joseph and Lorraine (Herbst) Giesbers. After graduating from Appleton High School in 1951 Bud proudly served the United States Army during the Korean Era. While serving his country Bud was introduced to his comrade Ron Wenham's sister, Shirley. Bud and Shirley went to St. John's Lutheran Church in Milton, Wisconsin on June 25, 1955 and were united in marriage, and have shared almost 53 wonderful years, which have been blessed with four children and seven grandchildren. Bud was employed for 39 years at Riverside Paper as a Ruling Machine Operator and Foreman, retiring in 1994. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Appleton, and a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 in Little Chute. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid golfer, playing cards, scratch-off lottery tickets, fish fries, and above all, he enjoyed time spent with his beloved family.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Shirley; his children: Keith Giesbers, Menasha, Brian (Rose) Giesbers, Kimberly, Connie (Scott) Balda, Kimberly, Robert (Lara) Giesbers, Mount Airy, NC; grandchildren: Kyle Balda, Nora Giesbers, Nicolas Balda, Matthew Giesbers, Eric Giesbers, John Giesbers, Jerrik Giesbers; sisters: Elaine Cridelich, Palo Cedro, CA, Marilyn (Glenn) Bowen, Whitmore, CA; brother-in-law: Ronald Wenham, Kimberly; sister-in-law: Alice (Robert) Blue, Edgerton, WI; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents-in-law: Forrest and Lenora Wenham; brothers-in-law: John Cridelich, and LeRoy Outhouse, and his sister-in-law: Nancy Wenham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Wichmann Funeral Home Tri-County Chapel (3212 South Oneida Street) with Rev. George Detweiler officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Full military honors will be performed at the funeral home directly after the funeral ceremony. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Theda Care at Home Hospice, and to Bud's friends Don and Rhea Missling, Cory and Lois Aber, Don and Val Krause, and all of Bud's other golfing, fishing, and card-playing friends… your friendships have been deeply treasured.
