Leona E. Schroeder

Age 92, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 09, 2001. Leona was born August 28, 1909 in Black Creek, WI; the daughter of Elmer and Frances DeWall. On November 22, 1927, she married Erwin Schroeder. During her lifetime, she worked in sales at numerous womens boutiques while maintaining her home and raising her daughter. Her home was always her pride and joy.

Leona is survived by her caring and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Braun, Sun City West, Az; four granchildren: Chris (Mark) Hillegas, Hilbert; Lorie Veatch, Layton, UT; Pam (Brian) Bednar, Phoenix, AZ; Jeff Braun, Peoria, AZ; six great-granchildren: Ryan and Tara Hillegas; Christopher, Courtney, Bryce and Katie Veatch; one sister, Gladys Brum; one brother, Lawrence DeWall; three sisters-in-law: Edna Schultz, Arlene Wendt and Elsie Pruno. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Erwin in 1998, her parents, a brother Leonard DeWall, 5 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2001 at 11:30 a.m. at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 530 West Parkway with Rev. D. Helwig officiating. Entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
