Leona A. Kettner

Age 71, passed away suddenly over the weekend. Leona was born on December 16, 1930 in Darboy, the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Vande Loo) Dietzen. She married Earl Kettner on January 5, 1952 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Darboy.
She was a long-time member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Leona was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She spend a lot of her time caring for friends and her family.
Leona is survived by her three children, Susan (Daniel) Gyrion, Sonny Kettner and special friend, Patti DeWall, and Sally Kettner and special friend, Frank Vaughn, all of Appleton; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Amber, Mike, Marlen, Ashley, Christopher, Morgan, and Carmen, all of Appleton; three sisters, Rita (Ed) Scharenbroch, Helen Wisneski, Alice (Bill) Vanden Boom; one brother, Howard (Ruth) Dietzen. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; two brothers-in-law, Joe Wisneski, Russell Kettner Sr., and a sister-in-law, June Kettner.
The funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2002 at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH (1617 West Pine Street) at 6:00 p.m. with Fr. John P. Bergstadt officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service (6:00 p.m.). Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
A memorial fund is being established.
