“Butch”
Kaukauna
Age 87, died in Appleton on April 7, 2002 after a brief illness. He was born on October 27, 1914 in Kaukauna, the son of the late Walter and Eva (Schmalz) Romenesko. On January 24, 1948, he married Margaret Bridget Smith. Butch was very loving and dedicated to his family. He retired from Thilmany in October, 1979.
Butch is survived by his wife Margaret, four sons and one daughter: Terry (Catherine) Sharron of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Larry (Mary) Sharron of Kaukauna, Mary Kay (Thomas) Lutzow of Appleton, Michael (Kay) Romenesko of Kaukauna, and Patrick (Sandra) Romenesko of Kaukauna; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers: Monroe (Lenora) Romenesko of Kaukauna, Orrin Romenesko of Appleton; four sisters: Martha (Mrs. Robert Jacobs) of Appleton, Germaine St. Arnold of Kaukauna, Marie (Mrs. Richard Powers) of Appleton, Frances (Mrs. Bernard Hutton) of Appleton; two sisters-in-law: Mildred (Mrs. Lloyd Romenesko) of Kaukauna, and Mildred (Mrs. Mark Romenesko) of Kaukauna; numerous nieces, nephews, and many special friends. Butch is preceded in death by three brothers: Lloyd Romenesko, Mark Romenesko and infant brother Michael; and one grandson, Kevin Thomas Lutzow.
The funeral liturgy will be at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 W. Senventh St., Kaukauna, with Fr. Robert Udulutsch officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established in Butch’s name. Contributions will go toward Alzheimer’s research. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice .
