Age 71, passed away on October 25, 2002, at Theda Clark in Neenah due to a massive stroke. Leo was born to life on August 7, 1931, the son of the late Albert and Josephine (Skenandore) Vanden Bloomer, in Kaukauna. Leo worked in construction before being employed at the Neenah Foundry for 27 years. He retired in 1995. Leo will be remembered by all as he always lived life to the fullest and celebrated his birthday many times a year.
Leo is survived by five brothers: Harvey Vanden Bloomer and special friend Kareen of Appleton, Ray (Bonita) Vanden Bloomer of Wrightstown, Kirby (Margaret) Vanden Bloomer of Kaukauna, Barney (Jackie) Vanden Bloomer of Kaukauna, and Ed (Mary) Vanden Bloomer of Kaukauna; four sisters: Verna Diedrich of Kaukauna, Josephine Fox of Kaukauna, Lucille Vanden Berg of Kaukauna, and Carol (Bob) Chosa of Kaukauna. Leo is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Leo is preceded in death by his parents, wife Val, two brothers: Elmer and Herman Vanden Bloomer, two sisters-in-law, and four brothers-in-law.
The funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2002, at Fargo Funeral Home, with Deacon Pete Reinl officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
