Leland E. Buck

Age 92, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2004. Leland was born in Hortonville on December 16, 1991, son of the late Albert and Martha (Hernke) Buck. He was married to the former Lucille Woodworth who preceded him in death in 1988. For many years, Leland worked as a carpenter, and later in life worked as a custodian and repairman for the Appleton School District. Many will recall his love for and his ability to repair and build beautiful furniture pieces for family and friends.

He is survived by a son: Lee W. "Butch" Buck of Sarasota, Florida; a half sister: Marion Helms of Appleton; three sisters-in-law: Mildred Buck of West Bend, Myrtle Bellis of Appleton, and Joan Woodworth of Oklahoma; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Leland was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1988, a son Lloyd 'Skip" Buck, several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Leland will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 13, 2004 in the chapel of FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, 724 E. South River Street in Appleton with Rev. John McFadden officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until the hour of the service.
