On January 11, 1983, he married the former Millie Schmeck in Las Vegas; she survives. For many years, Lee worked for Christy Supply in Green Bay as a sales representative for HVAC systems. Eventually he purchased the company, and later sold Christy Supply to DesignAir. After the sale, he continued his work as a consultant there. Lee was an avid golfer, and was a member of Fox Valley Golf Club. He was also fond of the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Spending time at his cabin near Hiles was a favorite pastime.
