“Lee”
Age 60, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, July 11, 2007. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 6, 1947 the daughter of Adolph and Evelyn (Peterson) Holubec. In 1965 she married her husband of 41 years, Ray Gass, in Gurnee, IL. Lee was a member of the Ladies Auxillary for the American Legion Post #38. She enjoyed reading, completing crossword puzzles, and driving the golf cart for both her husband and her good friend, Rose. Lee loved her grandchildren very much and loved to spend time with them.
Lee is survived by her husband, Ray; son, Brian (Deanna) Gass of Appleton; grandchildren: Jacob and Corrine; mother, Evelyn Holubec-Brooks; brother, John Holubec ; sister, Mary Ann (Bill) Vitek; mother-in-law, Lorraine Dreyer; nephews: Bill, Tim, Dan, J.P. and Steven; brother-in-law, Don (Karen) Gass; very special friends, Karl and Rose Heinz; and her very special cat, Gizmo. Lee is preceded in death by her father, Adolph Holubec; brother, Jimmy Holubec; grandmother, Mary Schmidt; father-in-law, Milton Gass; and her very special cat, Yanni.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Mark Geisthardt officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
The family extends a special thank you to the staffs at Gold Cross Ambulance, the Kimberly Police and Appleton Medical Center for their excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Lee’s name is being established for the American Legion Auxillary Unit #38, Appleton.
