Age 19, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 9, 2001. Leah was a young minister who ministered with her family both here and abroad in nations such as Peru and Northern Ireland. She was currently a student at Word Bible College in Oshkosh and graduated from Oshkosh Christian School in May of 2000. Leah played basketball, soccer, and softball with Oshkosh Christian School. She was editor of her high school yearbook and had a passion for photography. Above all, her greatest passion was her relationship with Jesus Christ and her desire for others to know Him also. Her parents Dale and Deborah Nelsen, and sister Elizabeth and brother Soren were blessed through the life that she lived.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2001 at 5:00 PM at His Church World Outreach Center, 2704 Jackson Street in Oshkosh with Pastor James Willoughby officiating. Leah's family will greet relatives and friends at His Church World Outreach Center in Oshkosh on Thursday from 3:00 PM until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established at His Church World Outreach Center in honor of Leah Nelsen
