Lawrence J Wichman

Lawrence J. "Larry" Wichman, 83, passed away on April 7, 2024. He was born on March 21, 1941, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Gerald and Frances Wichman. 

Larry was a dedicated and hardworking man, graduating from Appleton High School before pursuing his passion for mechanical engineering at FVTC. Larry contributed his skills to Combined Locks Paper Mill, S.J. Baisch & Associates in Kaukauna, and Rouman & Associates for over 30 years. His commitment and expertise left a lasting impact on those he worked with. 

Larry was married to his high school sweetheart, Donna Schmitt for over 62 years. Together, they raised their children and built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Larry’s love for golfing and bowling brought joy into his life outside of work. He was a cherished member of the community, actively involved in various organizations including the Knights of Columbus and served on the St. Paul Catholic Church Parish Council for many years. 

Larry is survived by his beloved wife Donna; daughters Christine (Jamie) Merckx, Lori (Terry) Ver Voort; daughter-in-law Debora Wichman; grandchildren Matthew Wichman, Jacob (Katie) Wichman, Nicole (Jason) Hildebrandt, Nathan Ver Voort, Kyle Merckx, Eryn Merckx; great grandchildren Callan Wichman and Graham Wichman; brother Vernon Wichman of Florida; nephews Scott and Wade Wichman; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his son Tim Wichman, and sister Vivian Wichman.
 
A visitation to honor Larry's life will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 Wallace Street
Combined Locks, WI 54113 on Saturday, April 20, 2024 beginning at 9:00 AM until time of funeral mass at 11:00 AM.
