Lawrence “Larry” M. Corry, age 66, of Appleton, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. On March 21, 1949, Lawrence Michael was born in Neenah to Edward and Junella (Michaels) Corry. He graduated from Menasha High School and went on to receive an Associate's Degree as a Dietary Technician. Larry was married to Joyce Daczyk and they divorced in 1990. On June 30, 2007, he married Laura Huichapeno Arriaga in Appleton. He was a volunteer fireman with the Town of Harrison for a time. Larry enjoyed his years as a member of the Appleton Curling Club, and loved deer hunting with his late uncle Nathan. Larry was a tavern owner for a number of years, operating Larry's Lakeside Tavern and Bradley's. He enjoyed bartending, and did so for many years at Park Central in downtown Appleton.
Larry will be greatly missed by his wife, Laura; his children: Jesse (Robin) Corry and Amber Pfeiffer; his grandchildren: Nathan, William, Estelle, Jeffrey Jr., and Jackson; his sisters: Fran (Carlton) Counard and Michelle (Dave) Wichmann; a brother-in-law, Ken Ellis; Laura's family and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy; a sister, Mary Ellis; and a very special uncle, Nathan Michaels.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 213 E. Wisconsin Avenue in Appleton with Fr. William Hoffman officiating. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 10:00 am until the hour of the Mass at the church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, as well as Dr. Kenneth Geller and his staff, for their continued professional care and kindness given to Larry and his family.
