Marie Feuerstein, age 86, of Appleton, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Friday, October 31, 2014. She was born on June 18, 1928, in Fence, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Oscar and Olga (Olsen) Olson. On November 19, 1947, Marie married Russell Feuerstein in Florence. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Appleton. Marie worked part-time at Prange's for many years and formed life-long friendships with her coworkers. She looked forward to time at the cabin in Fence, and their winter home in North Port, Florida. Marie was a world traveler with her family and friends. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, snowmobiling, and boating. Marie had a fond place in her heart for animals and birds. Her family meant the world to her, and her grand pets will miss their pampering too.
Marie is survived by her husband, Russ “Fire” Feuerstein; daughters, Gail (Randy Wilson) Feuerstein, Shirley (Pete) Wright, Debbie (Jeff) Heiting, Terry (Scott) Park, and Cindy (Rick VanRooy) Feuerstein; grandchildren, Jennifer (Erik) Cobb and P.J. (fiancé Priscilla Wundrock) Wright; Ryan Heiting, Kevin Heiting, and Justin (Amber) Heiting; great grandchildren, Brenda Heiting; Tyler and Ethan Cobb; Izzy Postel; sister, Charlotte Knutson; and brother, Raymond “Bud” Olson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy (Robert) Biller and Minnie (Ray) Howen; brothers, Orville Olson, Jack (Elsie) Olson, and twin brother Vernon Olson; brother-in-law, Howard Knutson and sister-in-law, Millie Olson.
The funeral liturgy for Marie will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 W. Pine Street in Appleton. Fr. Dennis Ryan will be officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Breast Cancer Family Foundation are appreciated. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
