Laurence W. Bussian “Larry”
Town of Menasha
Age 84, passed away on Saturday November 24, 2007 at his home. Larry was born on March 15, 1923 son of the late William and Marie (Wirtz) Bussian. He married Ruby E. Winter on June 9, 1950 at Riverview Lutheran Church, in Appleton, Wisconsin. Larry entered the military in December of 1942. He joined the 4th Transport Command Group of the Army Air Corp. He served as a mechanic in bases in Memphis, TN., San Bernadino & Los Angeles, CA., and Denver, Colorado. Larry was honorably discharged in December of 1945. He was employed as a pattern maker at American Can Corporation (later known as James River Corporation) in Neenah for 32 years. His hobbies included, wood-working, CB radio, stamp and coin collecting, and spending time at his cottage on Pine Lake, near Embarrass, Wisconsin. He always had a story to tell. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Debbie. He is survived by his wife Ruby, a step son Ronald Winter, and his wife Lyless of Schofield, WI., his daughter Bonnie Bruss and her husband Glen of Menasha, and his daughter Julie Adkins and her husband John of Corinth, Texas. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Adam (Jenny) and Matthew (special friend Amanda) Bruss, Anna (Mitchell) Horton, Lucas (Tessa) and Maria Winter; and also Timothy, Shannon, Laura, and David Colwill. Funeral Services for Larry will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday November 27, 2007 at Riverview Evangelical Lutheran Church, 136 W. Seymour St., Appleton, Wisconsin. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. A memorial is being established.
