Age 91, passed away at her residence on Sunday, June 1, 2008. Mabel was born on September 9, 1916, the daughter of the late Herman and Martha (Knoll) Koepsel. Mabel was married to the late Frederick J. Last on August 31, 1940. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1957. Mabel was a charter member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Menasha. She enjoyed being outdoors on warm sunny days, baking cookies and pies to distribute to her family and listening to music.

Mabel is lovingly survived by her children: Thomas (Susan) Last of Appleton, James (Georgene) Last of Wrightstown, Barbara (Eric) Verber of Wausau; grandchildren: James (Jill) Last, Christine (Andrew) Yero, Teresa (Michael) Blauert, Allen (Julie) Last, Carolyn West and fiancé Matt Harvey, Jason (Debra) Verber, Aaron Verber; great-grandchildren: Megan, Aiden, Jake, Kody, Olivia, Bryce, Gloria, Elaine, Georgia, Tansy, Orion, Sophia; sisters: Margaret Lietz of Menasha, Arlene Babbitts of Appleton; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Koepsel of Neenah, Eleanor Koepsel of Florida, Audrey Koepsel of Appleton and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services for Mabel will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 473 7th Street, Menasha, with Pastor David Skarsten officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The family of Mabel would like to extend a special thank you to Larry and Barbara Vignali who helped her in recent years.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial fund.
