Emblem

Kurt Daniel Shook, age 64 of Appleton, WI joined his heavenly kingdom on April 4, 2025. He was born to William and Nancy (Turner) Shook on June 29, 1960 in Warren, OH. After graduating from Fenton High School with the class of ’78, he went on to further education at the Ohio Institute of Technology, graduating in 1981. He worked most of his career as a Service Manager for Gordon Flesch Co, serving loyally for 37 years until his recent retirement. Kurt found his first love, Gloria Bruner, and they were married in March of 1993. They remained together until her untimely passing in 2009. Kurt found love again a little more than a decade later with a nice woman he met at his church, Shiela Fowler, and they were married in May of 2023, combining their families.

Kurt had many hobbies and interests, but above all else was an avid golfer. From April through October, you would - more often than not - find him on the golf course. He had the goal of golfing a full 18 in all 50 states and achieved his goal in July of 2023 when he and Shiela golfed in Alaska, finally crossing the last state off his list. Kurt and Shiela also enjoyed football, though they disagreed on which team was better. He held strong to his faith and the love of his Lord and Savior, even in the most difficult times. More than anything, though, Kurt was a family man. He loved his family and friends and cherished every moment he could with them.

Kurt will be deeply missed by his wife, Shiela; his step-children, Stephanie (Jason) Killam, Kyle (Abbey) Killam, and Katelyn (Mat) Bolwerk; his grandchildren, Tyler, Brooke, Hailey, Rowan, Reagan, and Fynn; his great-grandchildren, Lydia, Lucas, Braylee, Aiden, and Hadlee; his siblings, Jeff (Bridgette) Shook and Amy (Steve) Simer; his nephew, Eric Shook; his nieces, Leah Garber and Emma (Cody) Hagen; as well as many other extended relatives and dear friends.

Kurt is preceded in death by his former wife, Gloria; and his parents, William and Nancy Shook.
