Kurt L. Johansen, 65, passed away on August 8, 2018 at home.
Kurt was born on December 12, 1952 to Leslie and Millie (Peterson) Johansen. He graduated from Appleton West in 1971. On April 24, 1981 he was united in marriage to Nancy Neerdaels. Kurt currently worked at Mills Fleet Farm in the distribution center. He enjoyed all his coworkers throughout the years and always had a nickname for everyone. Kurt coached little league for more then 40 years and loved working with the kids and families. He made many lasting impressions on the kids he coached. The cabin up north was a special place where family and friends always gathered and spent many times making memories that will always be treasured. Most of all his family was the most important to him and he will be greatly missed by his wife, children and granddaughters.
Kurt is survived by his wife Nancy, two children; Greta Johansen, Kevin (Erika) Johansen, granddaughters Brynn and Harper, siblings; Naomi (Dave) Stemper, Jill Schmitzer, Joy (Gene) Sperberg, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Joe (Vivienne) Neerdaels, Drew (Stephanie) Neerdaels, Jeanne Neerdaels, John Rentmeester, Greta’s “little sister” Tahmara, close family friend Ann Collins and Denver, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Kurt was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Donna and Robert Neerdaels, a sister-in-law Kathy Rentmeester and brother-in-law Nate Schmitzer and family friend Jim Collins.
The funeral service for Kurt will be held on Tuesday, 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 S. State St. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Wichmann Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
